Why This Site Was Created

For starters, my father was always a true crime reader, though he certainly wouldn’t read the terribly gruesome books I have read.  I guess you could say that I have come by my fascination with true crime honestly.

The first true crime book that I ever read was Truman Capote’s "In Cold Blood" about the brutal murders of the Clutter family by two would be robbers. I highly recommend reading this book if you get the chance.

The second book I read – the one that got me hooked for good – was "The Unmasking: Married to a Rapist by Kevin Flynn".

This book is currently out of print but was an EXCELLENT read.  I could not put this book down and often wondered how a wife wouldn’t know that her husband was a rapist – though I am certain it’s completely possible.

After that book, I was hooked.  I wanted to read about the people that committed these heinous crimes and see if I could find out what made these people ‘tick.’  Though I am certainly no expert, I have learned that there are many common threads with serial rapists, murderers and criminals.  First, most are prone to have a fascination with arson or harming animals or both at a very young age.  A large majority of them show these signs very early on and a lot of them are bed wetters as well.  The men I have read about usually have had a seriously rocky relationship with their mothers.  Though with the women I have read about – it’s usually an issue between men, not necessarily their fathers that causes them to act out.

Even as a young child, I always seemed to have this sixth sense, or gift of the Spirit, about people and what they were about after speaking with them only a few minutes – which I credit to keeping me out of a lot of bad situations – if it didn’t feel right, I didn’t go there.  It is the same in the true crime accounts that I read.  Usually in the books, there is a chapter or two devoted to the person’s childhood and/or psychological diagnosis.  It is well before these chapters that I make my ‘diagnosis’ and I am usually always on target.

I personally believe that for young boys, the relationship with their mother defines who they will become as men.  And the same is true for young girls – their relationships with men usually determine how they interact and cope as adults.  Though that is what I’ve found to be true the majority of the time, there are those exceptions.

There you have it … my reasons for starting this website.  The majority of you who have made your way to this site probably relate to many of the things I’ve stated.  I think you will find this site to be thorough, informative and have many resources available to you in your endeavors in finding out why some people are just bad.

Please feel free to email me in care of this website for suggestions and comments.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Happy reading!
